Outing to Santa Day
Our outing to Santa Day in Larch Hill was a great success The two Beaver colony’s joined together for a great day out. In all over 600 Beavers attended over a two day period. More than 250 Beavers were disappointed as they did not book in time. Santa arrived on a sleigh, but before we visited him we went into the HQ for stories, photos and to visit the crib, and then onto Elf World . There was lots to do. We made woggles, cards, cakes, wrote a letter to Santa and posted it. The slide was a great attraction. Santa himself was wonderful, and he told us a lovely story. All the Elves and fairies who entertained the Beavers were great fun. Zave McLoughlin gave Santa a card signed by everyone. Jasmine Flynn gave him a sleeping bag for the young homeless. All proceeds from the two days went to the Children’s Hospital, Tallaght.
Our Beaver Mascot ‘GEORGE’ was 13 years old on that day, so we had a party, complete with cake, crisps, bars, crackers, balloons, etc. Sophie Mooney and Ross Kinsella cut GEORGE’s cake. Our bus driver James was glad to get back to Clane, having listened to the Beavers singing loudly all the way home.
